Relatively lightly raced Tony McEvoy trained three year old that appears ideally placed in this just moderate Benchmark 64 affair. Only start on a Soft track came last start where he went terrific, only narrowly beaten, however still rated strongly. In fact suggest he only needs to repeat that same rating again to beat these comfortably yet likely peaks for this third-up. Steps up to his most favoured trip over the mile which include an impressive 3.75L win whilst also far from disgraced only other attempt when finishing just 4.2L from the smart Cliffs Edge. Jamie Kah jumping aboard is the icing on the cake….reckon this bloke is a standout and rates a great investment at the opening $3.20.

More than handy Jon MacMillon trained four year old that comes into this off a likely beneficial five week freshen-up. That comes off the back of a tough run when still far from disgraced when taken over to Flemington against much tougher company last start. Just loves the sting out of the ground with four of his six previous wins coming on rain affected tracks whilst also no issues with Paul Gatt jumping back aboard having won on this bloke three times previously. Expect this bloke to be hitting the line better than anything late and suggest the opening $5 reads more than generous.

Another visitor venturing across the border from the all-conquering Darren Weir Stable. Lost no admirers despite going down as a heavily supported favourite when having first look at the track last start, after covering ground throughout. Likely to settle around midfield with cover sitting just off a genuine tempo and given just even luck expecting him to more than justify himself at the current $3. This seriously no tougher and also just love the fact Damien Lane is now doing the steering!

Super honest Peter Blanch trained gelding resuming. Races well fresh including last campaign producing a terrific runner-up effort under the steadier of 59kg despite covering ground throughout. Absolutely no concerns with likely rain affected track, with recent wet form reading more than solid. Gets race run to suit with strong tempo expected up front…expect him to be right in the finish given just even luck-reckon the opening $10 reads as big value! Also going to recommend punters have Nodoubtaboutit ($8) going for a profit as well…he too shapes as a likely sharp improver at nice odds.
