Race 4: BM 72 Handicap 1100m
TONSOR (3) First up and fitter for two recent trials which have been good leading up to tonight’s event. Lightly raced and form in first preparation was good winning two starts including a very good win on debut at Kembla Grange by three lengths. Has more upside than a few of these. Goes close in this.
Dangers:
DON’T LEAVE ME OUT (4) Fitter for two trials then took that form to Gosford first up winning well when specked in the market. Fitter again and second up record is good. Can make presence felt in this. EVER SO NATURAL (1) Fitter for four runs from a spell which have been sound in higher grade. Has raced well in the past here and gets his chance to play a part in the finish tonight.
Race 5: BM 70 Handicap 1250m
ALART (2) Up in grade last start and was sound. Go on the previous run which was here in the same class over 1100m winning well on pace. Can hold a forward position from the inside draw which is always a plus at Canterbury. Gets in well after the claim and at peak fitness. Go well tonight.
Dangers:
CRAFTY TYCOON (3) Fitter for three runs back from a spell which all have been sound getting back and working to the line well. Peaks in fitness tonight and the slight step up in trip suits. CHOICE LARGA (1) Strong winner last start at Kembla Grange scoring in a quick time. Will take beating if he can get a soft run on pace again.
Race 6: BM 72 Handicap 1250m
SAFADO (2) Two good trials prior to strong first up victory at Gosford sitting just behind the speed to score well as a very short priced favourite. Fitter for that performance and good second up record. Should be able to obtain a nice run just behind the leaders and with a touch of luck looks very hard to beat.
Dangers:
ABOVE AND BEYOND (5) Very consistent performer who hasn’t missed the placings in the last 5 starts. Solid effort running two starts behind the talented Ljungberg reads well for a race of this class. Can be in the finish again tonight. OUR MANTRA (1) Fitter for two sound efforts this preparation in higher grade than is meeting tonight. Form last preparation is good enough to b winning at this grade. Keep an eye on betting betting.
Race 7: BM 70 Handicap 1900m
CALFORNIAFIREBIRD (4) Good winner last start at Kembla Grange getting well back and finishing off strongly to score. The step up to 1900m looks to suit for mine and should obtain a soft run from the draw. Collett takes the ride and can be right in the finish tonight.
Dangers:
KILMACURRAGH (2) Will appreciate the drop back in class from a BM 84 last start in which Im happy to forgive and go on the previous two starts which were good on pace in a similar class and distance. Should bounce back tonight. INHERIT (12) Fitter for four runs back from a spell and looking for the step up in trip. Tommy Berry takes the ride and should get a soft run from the draw. Keep safe.
