Race 5: Big Sports Breakfast 1200m
REGIMEN (1) First up today and form in higher grade races last preparation was good including a second at listed level. From a strong yard and first up record is sound expecting Avdulla to be able to give her good run from the draw and be running home strongly.
Dangers:
NO INTEREST (4) Another first up runner who is fitter for two recent trials. Form last preparation behind Osborne Bulls and Suncraze reads good enough for a race of this class. PEMBROKE CASTLE (11) Fitter for first up run which was sound running on solidly late. Has a good second up record and two starts back finished behind The Autumn Sun which also reads well for this. Right in the mix.
Race 6: TAB Handicap 1500m
MEROVEE (5) Was specked in the betting however happy to forgive the first up effort on the unsuitable heavy track. The step up in trip suits and can hopefully land in a more forward position from the draw today. Form last preparation is good behind smart horses that would be be winning here. Expecting to go close.
Dangers:
GODUNOV (9) First up and fitter for strong recent trial victory. Won well when last first up. Expecting whatever he does today he will improve on however has ability and looks a real threat in this. GRETZKY (12). Race in good fashion just finding it a struggle to win however. Tommy Berry goes on and will be able to roll forward. Has a fitness on his rivals and not the worst in this. ANDAZ (10) Fitter for two runs back from a spell when well in the betting at both starts. Could be an improver today.
Race 7: Iron Jack Handicap 1100m
RESIN (4) Another strong chance from the James Cummings stable today. She was a big price first up and ran well to run third. Fitter for that effort and drops in grade plus is unbeaten second up ticks a lot of boxes. A winner of 3 from 7 and expecting to carry on with the job today.
Dangers:
TORPENHOW (7) A stable mate of the top pick and was a big drifter in betting first up running on well to run third. Fitter for that effort and Avdulla goes on today. Expecting a bold showing. ZA ZI BA (3) . Fitter for three runs back and she does tend to save her best efforts for this track and distance. Last start lead until late and can be in the finish again today.
Race 8: Hyland Race Colours 1300m
REGENT (9) First up and fitter for two recent trials. Form last preparation was more than satisfactory at this distance range and class. Only attempt at the 1300m ran on well late to just miss as favourite. Has been solid in early betting and will be in the finish today
Dangers:
METAMORPHIC (7) A model of consistency running no worse than second in his last four starts. Expecting him to be getting back and running on soundly again. A must for quinella and trifecta players. PIRACY (2) Fitter for three runs back these preparations which have all been sound without winning. Angland hops on board today and will be peaking in fitness. Can make presence felt in this even affair.
