Race 5: BM 70 Handicap 1900m
DANZIE (1) Racing well and has won the past two in good fashion. First time at the trip however can take up the lead and control the speed which is always a big advantage here at Canterbury. Has a big weight however gets in well after the claim. Looks hard to beat again.
Dangers:
TUNERO (10) Fitter for two runs back from a spell where he has hit the line well in both runs. Gets to a trip where he has performed well at before and races well here. Looks a clear danger to the top pick. SEMPER FIDELIS (5) Very fit and has been very consistent including two victories in her past five runs. A winner at this track and trip two starts back sitting forward in the run. From strong stable and can be in the finish again tonight. GAMBLESTOWN (2) The last two runs have been sound behind two very inform runners. Will find this easier. Small query at the trip however can run into the placings.
Race 6: BM 72 Handicap 1550m
WARUNA (11) Has won two of her past three runs in good style sitting forward in the run. Last recorded a strong victory at the Kensington track in slick time. Start to build an impressive overall record and from a strong inform stable. She clearly looks the one to beat again.
Dangers:
SEE THE MASTER (7) First up and fitter for recent trial victory at Rosehill. Forget about the two runs last preparation and go on the form in the previous preparation which was very sound for a race of this class. From the strong Waller yard. Watch betting. ESTEEM SPIRIT (1) Very good victories at Kembla Grange in the past two starts. This is harder however fit and inform and will roll forward from the wide draw. KAAPFEVER (8) Good winner two starts back then just fair last start behind the inform Danzie in a strong overall time event. From a good yard and can bounce back today with the right run in transit.
Race 7: BM 76 Handicap 1250m
VINNIE POWER (8) Racing really winning the past two both with strong on pace performances. Two starts back beat the smart Sexy Eyes who has since won two in a row in town. Last start fought hard in the straight to win in a very slick time. Will roll forward from an outside draw and her racing style will be suited to Canterbury.
Dangers:
INANUP (10) First up win was good then the next three starts have been sound without tasting victory. Last start was sound to line behind a city class performer at Canterbury. Fit, racing well and from good stable. NICTOCK (2) Fitter for two runs back from a spell. First up was sound behind Tactical Advantage who would be odds on in this event then last start rattled home late to run into the placings here. Up in trip looks to suit. Can win with the right run. BLUE TYCOON (3) Much improved effort second up. Fitter now for two runs back from a spell and did string multiple victories together last preparation. Can run into the placings.
Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1200m
PIERINA (5) Had two good trials prior to first up performance where she got back and ran on soundly here. Fitter for that effort and runs since arriving in Australia have been very good. Only other second up performance was very good winning at Scone. Step up in trip looks to suit. Looks hard to beat.
Dangers:
TIME OUT OF MIND (9) Sound first up performance then second up hit the line well after enjoying a nice run in transit to run second. Fitter for two runs back and Avdulla get the ride. Watch betting. POETIC CHARMER (8) Two trials were very good prior to good second at Kembla Grange when sent out as favourite. Fitter for that performance and has ran well at this track and distance in the past. Can win. EXCELLING (3) Well backed and won well first up at Kembla Grange. Lightly raced and from strong stable can measure up in what is an open race. Watch betting.
