Race 5: BM 70 Handicap 1900m
TUNERO (3) Well tried in the betting last start here and over this trip and won well sitting midfield and sprinting strongly in the straight. Goes well here, is fit and handles the trip are all big pluses for his case tonight. Bowman stays on for the ride from last start and this doesn’t look any harder. Goes close again.
Dangers:
HIGH POWER (1) Ran on well two starts back to win at Newcastle then last start again ran on well again to place in quick time event when a notable drifter in betting. First go at the trip and at Canterbury the main concerns however expecting to be in the finish.. NAUTIBERNIE (10) All four runs this preparation have been sound without winning in similar class. McEvoy stays on for the ride and from the strong Waller yard. Must be respected. SAN FRANCISCO (2) Quickly up to 1900m last start when second up and run on well to the line behind Tunero. Fitter again and is a winner at 1900m Can run into the placings.
Race 6: BM 70 Handicap 1100m
ALL TOO ROYAL (2) Lightly raced and a winner of two starts this preparation back in Melbourne. Made the trip up to Sydney last start and was well backed into odds on favourite and narrowly went down in a solid time event. At peak fitness now and drawn to be able to cross and take up a forward position which is always a plus at Canterbury. Big weight however the one to beat tonight.
Dangers:
LEGISLATION (5) Had two trials prior to first up effort here where he ran on well to narrowly go down. Fitter for that effort and did compete well at group level last preparation. Can be in the finish tonight. ALL FROM SCRAP (1) First up and fitter for two recent trials. Excellent fresh record and form last preparation was good in higher grades than is meeting tonight. Bowman on. Watch betting. TIME OUT OF MIND (9) Solid performance two runs back when well tried in the betting then last start was just fair. A repeat performance of two runs back has him right in this.
Race 7: BM 76 Handicap 1550m
ZIP A DEE DOO DAH (5) A nice win in the Kempsey Cup two runs back to score then last start in higher grade ran on well to run third in a quick time event. Fitter now for three runs back since arriving in Australia and ready to peak. JMac gets the ride and from astute stable. Expecting to go close again tonight.
Dangers:
FUEL (7) Four of the last five runs have been good and the other was an excuse run at higher level. Fit and goes well at this track and trip. Can take up a forward postion from the wide draw tonight. WEEKEND AFFAIR (14) Good winner here two starts back in similar class and at this trip then just fair at Gosford. A repeat effort of two starts back is good enough to be in the finish tonight. SEE THE MASTER (13) Fitter for two runs back from a spell which have both been here and both been good working to the line well. From the strong Waller yard and is ready to peak. A win wouldn’t shock.
Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1100m
MISS INVINCIBLE (5) If you look past the heavy track failure her form this preparation has been very good. Last start at Warwick Farm was taken to the front and won well kicking strongly in the straight as a short priced well supported favourite. Class is no issue and I don’t think the big weight will pose a problem. Looks hard to beat
Dangers:
READY TO PROPHET (6) Forget the last start effort and go on the two trials around it that were both very impressive and the good run last preparation at G2 level. Has the ability to win if ready to go. Watch betting. TANIKO (8) First two runs this preparation were good then preparaed to forgive last start when a well backed favourite. Happy to give another chance tonight from strong yard. PHOEBE’S LASS (9) Fitter for three well spaced runs this preparation. Is a winner here over this track and distance and JMac rides. Can be in the finish.
