Canterbury Racing Tips
Race 4 – VALE JOHN WENMAN HANDICAP (1550M)
Revolver (5) – Sound second last start and that winner has since gone on top Saturday grade and won well. Drawn to be able to cross and dictate again. Looks hard to beat.
Walk The Streets (6) – Solid first up performance and should be improved with that effort. Very consistent however does struggle to win. Form is good enough, however a bit wary about the current price.
Braces (3) – On the quick back up after winning at Warwick Farm last week at a good each way price. Races well here and this looks no harder. Seems overs at the currently $21.
Smart As (12) – First up was sound on pace then forget last start. Previous form is good for a race of this class and does seem a very big price at the $51 on offer. Can be in the finish.
Race 5 – BOWERMANS FURNITURE HANDICAP (1250M)
Shantou (4) – The drop in class suited when winning last start at Gosford. On the quick back up today. Fit and rarely runs a bad race. Makes good at appeal at the current $9 on offer.Wild Horizon (11) – Good winner first up at Newcastle when sent out as an odds on favourite. Should be fitter and might of come back a different horse this preparation. Avdulla goes on.Bella Success (6) – First up and won last time when fresh. Recent trial was good and form last preparation was good enough for a race of this class. Drawn a touch wide and will get back. Will be running home.
Villa Carlotta (1) – First up effort in harder grade was sound and should be fitter for that run. Did finish under 3 lengths behind Shoals only 5 runs back. Has ability and can be in the finish. Currently $8.
Race 6 – AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB HANDICAP (1250M)
Metamorphic (10) – Game first up defeat at Newcastle then made amends last start at Scone winning by over 4 lengths in impressive fashion. Nice drop in weight and McEvoy goes on.Tonsor (11) – Was on debut at Kembla Grange and bolted in. Well bred and should only be improved with that effort. Has a bit more upside than a few of these. Short enough however can feature.Palladian (6) – All three runs this preparation have been good and capped it off last start with a nice win at Kembla Grange. Peaks today for mine and get get a soft run from the draw.
Smooth Tycoon (5) – Both starts this preparation have been good without a lot of luck. Should be fitter for those efforts and form last preparations was good behind a couple smart ones.
Race 7 – REWARDS HANDICAP (1900M)
Bringagem (5) – Nice win at Gosford last start as a short priced favourite. N the quick back up today and has only missed the placings once in 7 starts. Goes close again today.
Base Camp (1) – His last two starts here have produced good seconds over this trip. Does have a big weight however will be able to get cover and should be in the finish again.
Chloride (12) – Flying this preparation in weaker grade. Won last there leading from barrier to box. Fit and will need to kick up from barrier one. Hard to knock a winner. Currently $13.
Allcash (4) – Better for the first up run and will strip fitter for that. Winner at this track and trip last preparation and Avdula goes on today. Expecting a much improved run.
