Race 5: BM 72 Handicap 1550m
DAWN RAID (1) Racing well this preparation winning the last two starts in good style. Last start in similar grade was able to sit on pace at Newcastle as favourite and win well beating Chalmers. Start prior was a strong winner at Hawkesbury in good time. Drawn to be able to cross to the front again looks hard to beat.
Dangers:
CHALMERS (3) Ran home strongly last start to run second to the top pick. Is at peak fitness now and has a good record at this trip. Expecting to be right in the finish tonight. SNITZEL DAY (7) Fitter now and wasn’t too bad behind the flying Fuchu and has performed well at higher grades than is meeting tonight. Does struggle to win however Bowman goes on and from the Waller yard I am happy to keep safe in this field.
Race 6: BM 70 Handicap 1900m
SAVVY KEN (5) Strong winner at Hawkesbury last start as an odds on favourite being taken to the front and giving nothing else a chance. Has been kept ticking over nicely with a solid trial. Stable is flying and have an excellent record with the stayers. Was heavily backed when markets went up and expecting a very forward showing.
Dangers:
ALLCASH (4) Solid effort first up and should be fitter for the effort. Has a good second up record and races well both here and at this trip and Bowman goes on tonight. Expecting an improved effort. DYLAN’S ROMANCE (6) Winner last start on this track and trip after being taken to the front and kicking strongly in the straight. Races well here and if can obtain the right run from the draw can feature in the finish. MISSYBEEL (2) Big winner last start winning by over 3 lengths at Kensington. This isn’t a lot harder and should be able the extra distance. Can feature in the finish in what is an open race.
Race 7: BM 74 Handicap 1250m
THE PHAROAH (3) The last two starts have been sound at this track holding forward positions and fighting on the straight to not be far from the winners. Does struggle to win however this is not a race of a lot of depth and can hold a forward position again tonight and be right in the finish.
Dangers:
JERICHO (4) First up and given a quiet trial leading into this. From last preparation was just fair albeit in high class than tonight. Did run second at listed level five starts back which reads well for this. JMAc rides and from strong stable. Watch betting. HANDFAST (1) Worked to the line well first up here then abit plain last start. Fitter now and has performed well in higher grades than tonight. Will get back and expecting to be running on strongly.
Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1100m
ALASSIO (1) Fitter for first up effort where she lead them up in the straight and was rundown late. Fitter for that performance and was a good winner at only other second up start. Hasn’t raced here however did look good in a recent trial around this circuit. Will appreciate the sharp drop in class and JMac rides. Looks hard to beat.
Dangers:
SLYVIA’S MOTHER (5) Lightly raced and winner of 2 of her 3 career starts. Last start bolted in at Hawkesbury as a short priced favourite. This does look harder however is still on the up. It looks a race between the top 2 selections for mine. LADY I AM (7) First up and form last preparation was good for a race of this class. Has been given a recent trial in a tune up for this. Slight query fresh so watch betting as has the ability to be in the finish.
