The Big 6!

Here’s our Big 6 Horse Racing Tips for Saturday July 7

Flemington

R1 #4 MINTHA
“The last two runs of MINTHA’s have been full of merit, although beaten she has shown different strings to her bow and been brave in defeat both times. She charged home here two back in a slowly run race, then sat wide and without cover, hitting the lead before going down late at the Valley. She is drawn well and has the red-hot Craig Williams going on.”

R2 #5 SIXTIES GROOVE
“Looks ready to win and very ready for 2000m! Split two quality horses last week and there were decent gaps behind. Strikes a very thin race. Keen!”

Randwick

R8 #4 REDOUBLE
Way back fresh. Good last week when just couldn’t edge wide enough (quinella had momentum) and beat Dreamforce and Barthelona 3rd-up last prep, that is outstanding form. Yes 1300m. Go well.”
(Oz Racing Form)

R9 #1 SHE KNOWS
Very consistent filly who has won 3 of her past 5 starts. Last start won with a leg in the air. No worse than second in 5 career starts here. Doesn’t know how run a bad one.

R1 #1 CROCKETT
“Tony McEvoy trained two year gelding that appears to have returned to racing in fine style, firstly when scoring nicely in a recent trial before running on strongly, placing first-up in what was a strong rating race behind Assertive Play/Thorondor (Assertive Play has since gone on to score again….impressively!). The closing sectionals that this bloke produced however was what really stamped himself as a future winner, after giving all of his rivals a big break early, before getting to within less than a length off the winner. Indicated ability when winning on debut last campaign, enough in fact for Stable to then travel him up to Queensland where he finished runner-up in Listed Company, before eventually seemingly training off after disappointing in the Magic Millions. Expect him to have also have derived plenty of benefit for having had the run back whilst the step up to the 1200m here now appears ideal. Reckon this bloke is the days best bet anywhere in Australia….will be winning! Has opened up $1.75 (rates $1.40 in our books!)!”

Belmont

R5 #9 NEW AGE
“NEW AGE is a most promising staying mare. She won easily last start stepping up to a mile & a quarter after having its previous start 5 weeks earlier over a mile. It drops a kilo on that win, Pike sticks (as opposed to staying with RED ARMY), is unbeaten at the trip & will handle the track conditions. Can’t see many dangers to it.”
