Despite still being a maiden thought this Tony McEvoy trained three year old displayed plenty of promise when far from disgraced behind some smart gallopers when last in work. Included in that was a 1.4L debut third behind Blue Diamond winner Written By whilst also wasn’t far from placegetters in his latest appearance against Group Three company. Has since been gelded and has since been fitted for this with two recent trials including a win in his latest appearance, obviously suggesting he has come back as well. If that is the case this bloke has the ratings to put these away….comfortably!! Considering we were expecting to see red figures, obviously more than happy with the opening $2.50.

Race 6 No 9 SIRIUS SUSPECT
Another Darren Weir galloper that promises to have a bright future having won three of his only seven starts. In a race with very little pressure, maps to lead doing no work from his ideal rails draw whilst also peaks now having his fourth run this time in. Admittedly this is his toughest test to date, meeting some more than handy gallopers however simply can’t ignore the fact this bloke appears to have found his ideal race getting everything to suit. Expect him to give a terrific on-pace sight and be extremely hard to run down. More than happy to take the current $5.

Race 7 No 2 CASINO WIZARD
Admittedly have always had a soft spot for this evergreen eight year old however must confess to being pleasantly surprised when resuming, just missing. What however attracts us to this bloke even more is the fact he looks extremely well in under todays Weight For Age conditions, meeting most of his rivals from his narrowly last start miss, a whopping 6kg better at the weights!! Also no concerns with his second-up form….in fact he flies having won four from his previous eight attempts! Concede the big unknown is the most promising, unbeaten lightly raced, Petrille. Would have to be something very special to win against Listed company given she is rising from a BenchMark 64 hence happy to bet against and be on ‘The Wizard’ at the current $4.20. Best roughie and one we will be including in all multiples is Carlingford ($35).

Super honest Country Victorian trained mare that has been right in the finish in all five runs back this campaign. Maps to again get the run of the race, settling handy, enjoying a lovely trail just off the pace whilst also gets in attractively carrying just 1kg above the minimum. Obviously far from a good thing in what is an extremely open race however at the $12 also find those odds impossible to ignore and should again give supporters a great each way sight.
