Race 1: 2yo Handicap 1200m
AVON RIVER (8) A very nice trial victory at Warwick Farm hitting the line well. Should be able to drive up and sit just behind the speed in this. Stable has a good record with first up runners and Avdulla takes the ride. In what is a tricky betting this looks the safest option for mine.
Dangers:
HIGHTAIL (1) Two good trials prior to debut victory at Kembla Grange then last startwas sound again working to the line and running into the placings. Has the race experience and fitness level to be right in this again. MY FIRE PHOENIX (9) Was taken with her trial victory at Canterbury winning in good fashion. Was meet with a little bit of support when markets opened up and expecting to run a forward race. Watch betting.
Race 2: BM 88 Handicap 1150m
EASY EDDIE (2) Very honest runner who rarely runs a bad race. First up effort at Rosehill was sound running third then last start fought on well to score narrowly. Fitter and races well here and should be able to hold a forward position from the barrier. Hard to see him not being in the finish again.
Dangers:
ALL TO ROYAL (7) Very consistent this preparation winning his first two starts in Victoria then two seconds on his transfer to Sydney. Fit and racing well and from strong stable. MALAISE (1) First up and fitter for two recent trials. Form last preparation was good in higher grade races than is competing in today. Fresh record very good and from stable that has a proven record with fresh runners. Watch betting.
Race 3: TAB Highway Handicap 1300m
LA SCOPA (1) Two runs this preparation have been very good in QLD getting back and hitting the line strongly to run second in both starts. Fitter and the step up in trip looks to suit. Raced at Listed and Group level last preparation and stable has an excellent record in these class events. Avdulla rides. Hard to beat.
Dangers:
IBINI (5) Runs have been well spaced this preparation however continues to race well on the country circuit. Should be able to hold a forward position from the draw and can be in the finish. ELEGANT ELLEN (2) Good winner last start in lesser grade and wasn’t disgraced at Rosehill two starts back at this level. Will need to find a length to win the race however can fill the placings.
Race 4: BM 72 Handicap 1300m
NINDAMOS (10) Looked good in two trials prior to debut victory at Wyong last start getting well back and powering home to score in impressive fashion as a short priced favourite. Should only be fitter for the run and should obtain the clear room to get home from the wide draw. Looks to have above average ability.
Dangers:
SWELT (3) First up effort was good at Hawkesbury then a good winner the next two starts as a well backed short priced favourite. This is harder however was only three lengths away from Lean Mean Machine in first preparation and I feel has improved from then. Can win. LJUNGBERG (7) Broke maiden status last start when first up sitting midfield and running home strongly. Can go on with it now and Bowman takes the ride.
Race 5: BM 78 Handicap 1300m
THE ART OF THE BAR (5) Lightly raced and talented filly from the Waterhouse yard. Has won 3 of her past 4 starts in good fashion being able to sit on the speed and prove too strong in the run to the line. I think the drop of 100m in trip will suit and won’t find this any harder than she has been competing against. Looks the one to beat.
Dangers:
GONGS (4) The money was right last start when well tried in the betting and showed sharp improvement to score at Warwick Farm last start running home strongly to score. Fit and in form and will be running on again. SWEET SCANDAL (1) Fitter for two runs this preparation in higher grade than she is meeting today and both runs have been sound. When previously raced in this class was a good winner. Expecting to be right in the finish.
Race 6: BM 78 Handicap 1300m
POETIC CHARMER (5) Has won two of his past three starts in good fashion and should be at peak fitness. Last start at Warwick Farm drifted well back in the run and powered home to the line to win impressively. From strong stable and peaks today. Looks hard to beat again.
Dangers:
REGENT (4) Good winner two starts back at Warwick Farm hitting the line strongly to score on a heavy track then last start again worked to the line well to just miss the placings. If they are running on he will be right in the finish. ASTORIA (1) Racing well without winning in similar grade and has competed well in the past in higher grade than is meeting today. Has ability however does drop sharply in distance today. Watch betting as if right can be right in the finish.
Race 7: Kensington Handicap 1500m
GRESHAM (9) Fitter for three runs back from a spell. Last start sat midfield and ran on strongly to narrowly go down. Gets in well after the claim to Robbie Dolan. Should be able to position himself just behind the leaders and be right in the finish. One of the better bets on the program.
Dangers:
SIR BACCHUS (4) Was fitter for two runs back from a break when well tried in the betting and winning at Warwick Farm. At peak fitness today and sure to be running home strongly at the end. SPECTROSCOPE (1) All four runs this preparation have been good in similar or higher grade getting back and running on strongly. Last start ran on well to run second to Sir Bacchus. Has the right form lines to be in the finish today.
Race 8: BM 78 Handicap 1000m
HEART CONQUERED (4) Building a very good overall record with all four wins over this trip and has won his last two starts in impressive fashion taking up the lead and kicking strongly in the straight. Drawn to be able to cross and take up a forward position again and looks very hard to beat again.
Dangers:
REBEL MISS (8) First up and fitter for two recent trials. The last one was a good victory at Warwick Farm. Form last preparation was good in similar grade over this trip and looks ready to go today. Watch betting. REVENIRE (3) Dropped back sharply in distance last start and chased home the top selection in running second. Will get back however can run into the placings again. Has won twice in his career over this trip.
Race 9: BM 78 Handicap 1550m
INTUERI (8) Fitter for two runs this preparation and showed good improvement last start sitting more forward in the run and narrowly going down. In what is an open race can take up a forward position from a wide draw and be right in the finish. Has a good record over this trip.
Dangers:
SPARKY LAD (9) Was sound last start on a unsuitable heavy track. Fitter and back up to this distance range where he does his best work looks to be the positives and JMac stays on for the ride. Expecting a forward showing. SUPER STAR BOB (11) Four runs back this preparation and has raced well without winning one. Last start got back and ran home strongly to run second in a good effort. Drawn well, fit and Bowman rides. Can be right in this. COONAWARRA (1) Trial form was good prior to first up run which was too bad to be true. Taking on trust however was a multiple winner last preparation over this trip and class. Need to improve however best is good enough to win this.
