Race 5: BM 72 Handicap 1550m
WITCHES (4)Only the winner of two races however has run well in higher class races than is competing tonight. Fitter now for two good runs back from a spell. Last start was run down late in a very quick time event. Rolls forward tonight which is always a plus here and looks hard to beat in this grade.
Dangers:
GREAT JOB (3) A winner of 5 from 10 career starts and ran well first up when run down late by a Saturday city class horse. Big weight however fitter and step up in trip suits. Will be right in the finish. WEEKEND AFFAIR (5) A good winner here back in November flying home to score. The subsequent runs have been sound for a race of this class. Gets a soft run from the draw and just needs abit of luck to be right in the finish. Can feature.
Race 6: BM 70 Handicap 1550m
BRING THE MAGIC (4) Nice run first up getting well back and finishing off hard to score narrowly in a good time event to break maiden status. Should only be fitter for that effort and two runs at this venue last preparation although not winning were very good runs. From a very strong yard and a repeat performance has her right in this.
Dangers:
SURE KNEE (6) First up run after a solid trial was good working to the line well then last start again sound in a very slick time event in a higher grade event than is facing tonight. Fitter and gets her chance to win a race. EVERLASTING LOVE (5) Only the winner of one from ten however has only missed the place once in those ten starts. Fit can hold an on pace position in the run and be right in the finish.
Race 7: BM 70 Handicap 1900m
RAPIDO CHAPARRO (1) Racing well this preparation winning his past two starts after being taken to the front and kicking strongly in the straight. Canterbury suits that racing style and the step up to this trip looks right up his alley. Last start gave no one else a look in winning by almost 7 lengths. Big weight however looks to have above average ability.
Dangers:
ZIP A DEE DOO DAH (2) Nice run last start behind Live And Free who won again last Saturday. Fit and the trip is no issues. Expecting him to be hitting the line well late. NAHUEL (3) Sound effort first up then back to winning ways last start at Gosford winning as an easing favourite. Lightly raced and looked a stayer of some promise last preparation. Can feature in the finish with the right run.
Race 8: BM 70 Handicap 1250m
ORI ON FIRE (9) Good effort first up at Mudgee when a well backed favourite and run down late in a quick time event, then made amends last start running on strongly at Randwick to score in a TAB Highway event. Fitter again and has the ability to go very close in this class.
Dangers:
KAWAIKINI (6) Drops in class today and has run some big races in higher grades without winning. Gets back and will be storming home. Can feature in the finish. Finishing close behind Season a couple runs back reads well for a race of this class. CAPE WICKHAM (7) Strong winner first up at Newcastle running home strongly to score then happy to forgive last start here. Fitter here and can feature in the finish.
