BetEasy History
BetEasy was originally formed when Matthew Tripp purchased and rebranded the BetEzy bookmaking business in 2014. Matthew Tripp was the founder of Sportsbet, which was sold to global gaming giant Paddy Power in 2011. This business was rebranded to CrownBet following Crown Resorts purchase of a majority 67% stake in the company in late 2014.
Canadian gambling giant The Stars Group then acquired a 62 per cent stake in CrownBet, just prior to CrownBet acquiring William Hill Australia in a $300 million dollar deal.
CrownBet was then rebranded to BetEasy as a result of the merger between both CrownBet and William Hill Australia.
