Race 4 no 3 TOP PROSPECT
Former Kiwi galloper that has had the two runs since joining the strong Weir Stable, hitting the line nicely on each occasion. In particular went straight into most observers blackbooks last start, when second-up over 2000m finishing a close-up third, after taking a stack of late ground off winner and current race favourite Silvera. Expect those form lines to again stack up strongly for this and now being third-up, suggest this bloke will only strip further improved, typical of most newly acquired Weir gallopers. Meets Silvera a further 2kg better at the weights…rates a good bet at the opening $3.20 available.

Race 5 no 8 REWARDING LAUGHTER
Eric Musgrove trained Country Victorian visitor that comes into this off a blistering second-up win when displayed the acceleration of a very handy galloper. Led throughout on that occasion when producing what was a clear career peak rating and see absolutely no reason why she can’t go on with things here…especially on preferable rain affected going! Maps to settle handy enjoying ideal trail just off speedsters Zarace and White Kaps and if able to replicate her last start rating, will quite simply win again. Quite surprised at the early generosity being displayed by the bookies with the opening $6 reading as lovely value considering she has again found what just appears a moderate race.

Race 6 no 9 STREETCAR ILLUSION
With the speedy Ogunde engaged, and the likes of Evil Dreams and Belwazi both looking to cross from their respective wide draws we obviously envisage this to be run at a hectic tempo…..hence we have gone looking for a swooper. Admittedly this bloke doesn’t win out of turn however must also be acknowledged is also rarely too far away in his races. No coincidence his best career ratings have come when tempo has been strong up front, and given that likely scenario here as well as the fact he gets in with absolutely no weight (drops a massive 6kg down on only 51kg after claim!) we expect he will have every opportunity to be charging late. To add further icing on the cake the bookies have opened him at a most generous $11….quite simply a great each way bet to nothing!

Race 8 no 2 HARD EMPIRE
Only two starts since joining the Richard Jolly Stable have both been terrific. Firstly when resuming, winning despite covering ground throughout, before placing second-up, again when forced to race wide. Actually drops back slightly in grade back to a BenchMark 70 affair however it is the fact this bloke has finally drawn a gate which has drawn us in. Simply maps ideally, settling handy just off what shapes as a solid tempo up front and also like the fact Stable have again elected to claim with young Huxtable jumping back aboard. With the two clear dangers having already been scratched suggest this bloke rates as a terrific each way gamble at the current $7 on offer.
