Gawler Tips, Saturday July 7
Race 1 no 1 CROCKETT
Tony McEvoy trained two year gelding that appears to have returned to racing in fine style, firstly when scoring nicely in a recent trial before running on strongly, placing first-up in what was a strong rating race behind Assertive Play/Thorondor (Assertive Play has since gone on to score again….impressively!). The closing sectionals that this bloke produced however was what really stamped himself as a future winner, after giving all of his rivals a big break early, before getting to within less than a length off the winner. Indicated ability when winning on debut last campaign, enough in fact for Stable to then travel him up to Queensland where he finished runner-up in Listed Company, before eventually seemingly training off after disappointing in the Magic Millions. Expect him to have also have derived plenty of benefit for having had the run back whilst the step up to the 1200m here now appears ideal. Reckon this bloke is the days best bet anywhere in Australia….will be winning! Has opened up $1.75 (rates $1.40 in our books!)
BET: WIN
ODDS $1.75

Race 6 No 8ORAKEI OVERLORD
Patrick Payne trained, lightly raced Kiwi import that appears ideally placed having had the four more than solid runs back this time in including two victories. Absolutely no issues with likely rain affected going having encountered Heavy tracks in three of four runs this campaign. Also have no concerns with the wide draw as we would expect him to roll forward and enjoy the run of the race settling in handy sitting just off two likely leaders in Temps Voleur and Beau’s My Boy. Suggest he will also the relish the slight rise in trip whilst also likely to benefit greatly dropping back sharply in the weights getting in down on the minimum in a race where many of these certainly are racing no where near their best. Expect he will give supporters a terrific sight at the $3.80 on offer.
BET: WIN
ODDS $3.80 @ Ladbrokes, William Hill, Crown Bet, BetStar.

Race 7 No 14 MISS SISKA
Lightly raced Promising Tony McEvoy trained mare that has returned in terrific fashion winning two of three starts with only defeat coming against much tougher Group Three company. Drawn ideally mapping to enjoy perfect run leaders backs. Also plummets in the weights dropping a massive 6.5kg, getting in just 0.5kg above the minimum with the queen of South Australia, Jamie Kah jumping back aboard. Also won her only start here at the track three starts back also quashing any concerns weather she would handle Gawler….will again start favourite however still more than happy with the opening $2.90 in a race with limited chances.
BET: WIN
ODDS $2.90 @ Sportsbet, Ladbrokes, William Hill, CrownBet, Neds, TopBetta, Bet365, BetStar.

Race 8 No 7 FLYING KRUPT
Lightly raced Phillip Stokes trained three year old filly that has displayed plenty of promise in brief career to date. Indicated she has again returned as well as ever when momentarily looked home, before being gathered in by impressive winner Thompson’s Reward when resuming. Simply didn’t handle the Valley when failing behind the impressive Miss Leonidas second-up. Certainly taking a line through her first-up run which was terrific after covering ground throughout. Surely now only strips fitter again and steps up to more preferred 1200m. Drawn ideally and drop in weight other positives-the opening $10 reads as juicy value.
BET: EACH-WAY
ODDS $10.0 @ Bet365.
