Canterbury Racing Tips
Race 4 – RIBCHESTER NEW TO DARLEY (1550M)
Laussel (5) – Form has been good this preparation. Last start ran on well to narrowly go down at Saturday grade. Small query with the drop back in trip however fit and racing well.
Lightning Nic (7) – Building nicely this preparation with two runs back from spell which have both been good running on. Step up in trip suits. Ready to peak today. Currently $8.
Smart As (6) – Strong form lines from last start running well behind a winner who has since won well in town at Saturday grade. Stacks up well for this. Looks a good eachway bet at $6.
Race 5 – EVEREST 100 DAYS TO GO (1100M)
Empress Matilda (5) – Fitter for first up run behind a smart one. When last second up was a winner at this track and distance. Should lob near the front which suits this course and be right in the finish.
We Have Lift Off (7) – First up and winner of two trials in good fashion. Was a winner here last preparation racing on pace and proving too strong. Trials suggest she is ready to go.
Bella Vella (1) – Fitter for first up effort when running on very late to run into the money. Good second up record and very good at this trip. Form last preparation is good enough to take this out if right.
Unwise (11) – Broke the maiden last start as a red hot favourite at Kembla Grange. Consistent type and although this is harder doesn’t rarely run poorly. Can figure in the finish.
Race 6 – WINTER RACING (1250M)
Medovina (8) – Disappointing last start as a $1.6 favourite at Kembla Grange and missing the placings. She is better than that and will be fitter from that run. Good figures both at this distance and second up. Expecting good showing.
El Dorado Mine (11) – Well backed first up from a freshen and got the job done at Warwick Farm. Fitter for that effort and from strong yard. Should get a good run from the draw.Paret (9) – 5 lengths off the winner at G2 level last start then given a freshen up. Form last preparation is more than good enough for a race of this class. Watch betting. Currently $5.
Mad For Art (5) – A winner at this track and distance last start leading and kicking strongly. Starting to build and impressive overall record. Will sit forward again and be in the finish.
Race 7 – TAB REWARDS (1900M)
Cormac (7) – Gets in well at the weights after two solid runs in his last two efforts. Will get back from the draw however expecting to see him running on hard late in what is an very open race.
Prescience (5) – First up for a while however two recent trials have been sound and has McDonald engaged. Form previously is good enough for a race of this class. Watch betting.Shadal (11) – Sharp improvement last start when second up running on well. Fitter for two runs back and I think the step up in trip suits. Looks for him to be running on again.Kuiper Belt (4) – Bolted in at Hawkesbury last start winning by over 6 lengths. Will attempt to roll forward again from the draw. This is harder however does get some weight relief.
