Kyneton Racing Tips

Track: Good 4. Rail: True.

Best Bet: Race 9 – 2 BRYAN

=====

Race 1: Maiden Plate 1850m

PETA ROSE (8) is from the Weir yard, she was only fair on debut when going straight to the mile, she will have got plenty from that and looks suited going out to the mile.

Dangers:

SPILIA (7) has been to the races three times but draws to get a soft run on the rails and gets out in trip. PERFECT PONY (4) has placed at his last couple after leading and will likely take up a similar role today. MACLAIREY (3) gets the blinkers off, he was well backed last start but over-raced badly.

Race 2: Maiden Plate 1100m

INFLUENTIAL GIRL (7) ran on hard to narrowly miss at Hamilton at her racetrack debut, she is drawn out again and will likely have the same racing pattern. Look for her late.

Dangers:

ADVANCING (3) didn’t show much at his first three runs, he was then sent to the paddock and has been gelded. He has trialed in preparation for this fairly, looks a big improver after the time off. ENCOSTA’S REWARD (1) is an ex-Weir runner now with Shea Eden, resumes today so watch for any confidence in the betting. Watch for any money for the first-starter THINK BETTER OF IT (12) from the Ciaron Maher yard. Happy to be against GERMANOTTA (10)she was good resuming but had every chance and faded at the end of the 1000m.

Race 3: 3YO Maiden Plate 1200m

BASIL (1) is a debutant for the Hayes/Hayes/Dabernig yard that bolted in at a recent trial. Big watch on the betting with him.

Dangers:

FABRIC (12) was off the map at her debut at Ballarat, she was worse than midfield before hooking wide and running on hard. If she gets the right cart into it, look for her late. There was plenty of support there on debut show she must be showing plenty at home. WRITTEN GEM (13) was good here on debut then was well in the betting at start two and kept chasing when up on the speed. She should be one of the leaders and can feature if she settles. EUGENE’S FOREST (6) is poorly drawn but will find this a lot easier than what he faced before going to the paddock. The key here is whether the money comes for the top pick.

Race 4: Fillies and Mares BM70 Handicap 1200m

RUCHLA (4) was good in this grade last start after being posted deep without cover on the speed, she was still only beaten a length after the torrid run. She will go forward again and look the winner at some stage in the straight.

Dangers:

GUESS AGAIN (6) will be up on the speed again from the good draw as she was when winning a 58 at Echuca last time. DOVES CRY (3) has won both her fresh runs, this is a lot easier than what she was racing before going to the paddock. With her tactical speed expect that she will be up eye-balling early. CANNED HEAT (8) is coming off an Echuca maiden win, she was beautifully ridden and looks well suited getting out to the 6 furlongs.

Race 5: BM70 Handicap 1450m

BAD WOLF (3) has been up for a while, he was a string winner at the Valley two back when up on the speed, then had breathing issues when well beaten in a harder race at Moe. He is better than that last run reads.

Dangers:

ANNUNCIATE (1) was sent to the paddock after being broken in the run after going to hard to try to lead at Sandown 3 months ago, he had been racing brilliantly prior to that and from the good draw should be camped on the leaders. FORSURE (6) gets the soft draw to camp on the leaders back, although he does have tactical speed so the jock will have all the options. KOOLAMA BAY (7) will roll forward and may be the leader, he will find this easier than what he has been racing.

Race 6: BM64 Handicap 1100m

ROCKETS RED GLARE (3) drops in grade after his last start nice effort at Cranbourne in a BM70. He maps well here off the good draw and will be running on hard.

Dangers:

RACEY RAFF (7) gets the blinkers on for the first time, he led them up in his maiden win but didn’t quicken and was headed, rallied back underneath to win. He may go to the next level with the shades on. SHEZZ SHUFFLING (11) is a last start maiden winner, she is trained locally and she was well supported to get that first win. This is harder but she has the talent. FUNDING (2) also comes back from 70 grade where he over-raced and didn’t finish it off. Hopefully with the junior rider on he will be able to settle better and finish the race off.

Race 7: BM64 Handicap 1850m

SLADE DE CERISY (3) is a last start winner at 58 grade, he has to step up in trip but if he can get a couple of cheap sectionals in front, he will be hard to run down.

Dangers:

THE THUG (1) has the class, even with the claim he has to carry 61.5 kg’s. He will go forward and if he can carry the weight, he will go close. PAMANDO (6) is a little inconsistent, at her best she would run over the top of these. She is dropping back in grade from her last start across the border in SA, she did show a good turn-of-foot though before tiring. STORM HARBOUR (8) draws wide and usually likes to race on the speed, he looks a good lay as he looks to be posted wide throughout.

Race 8: Kyneton Cup 2000m

A very open Cup on paper. ANOTHER COLDIE (1) has won the Golden Nugget at Ballarat, not beaten far at Bairnsdale in the Cup two back after a torrid run then went to Horsham and won their Cup. He doesn’t map as well as last time where he was beautifully ridden, if he gets cover no worse than mid-field he will be running on hard.

Dangers:

SNITZEPEG (6) has been up for a long time but rarely runs a bad race. He charged home late in the Cup at Moe last start to just miss, he has some tactical speed so don’t expect him to get so far back this time. OUR BIG MIKE (4) comes across the Tasman after leading them up and folding at Group One level in NZ last time. He gets a stack of gear changes and will try go from pillar to post. SMART AS YOU THINK (7) next best in what looks an open race, she is a last start winner north of the border and will be up on the speed for a long way.

Race 9: BM84 Handicap 1200m

BRYAN (2) has been up for a while but he is racing so well. He won three on the bounce through July into September, placed in a hot race at Caulfield then headed north to Randwick where he had no favours on the bog track. He will just need a little luck getting off the inside when running on late.

Dangers:

WENNER (8) has placed 2 of 3 when racing fresh as he is today, he won a similar race two back at Caulfield then was poor after a tough run in a harder race before going to the paddock. He should be up on the speed for a long way. SILENTZ (5) was well favoured in the Winter Champs final at HQ when last racing, that race has proved an outstanding form reference. Look for him late. SHERIFF JOHN STONE (4) will be up on the speed for a long way, he rarely runs a bad race and will be making his own luck.
