It’s a classic Ross Lyon grudge match as Fremantle host St Kilda in the west, with both teams hoping to add to their finals chances.
The Dockers are teetering on the edge of the finals race this season, having experienced some seriously up and down form.
Their patch of six wins from seven games in Round 3 – Round 9 was a great stretch of form, but they haven’t had another victory since.
That said, they came remarkably close last week, and were more than five goals ahead of the Geelong Cats at one stage.
The Cats came back however and although the Dockers still had a late chance to win it, they fell just short.
St Kilda are right in the thick of things – they’ve got a 7-6 record but a so-so percentage is keeping them just outside the eight at the moment.
When they’ve lost they’ve usually lost by big margins, and with percentage likely to play a big role in finals this year they won’t want to let that keep happening.
Although they haven’t played A-grade footy over the last two weeks they have clicked back into winning form with victories over North Melbourne and Gold Coast.
Keep playing consistent footy and the wins will keep coming, as will a first finals campaign since 2011.
The Dockers welcome back their two biggest stars this week, Aaron Sandilands and Nat Fyfe, and also have Ethan Hughes and Brady Grey in the side.
Stephen Hill and Josh Deluca miss through injury, Connor Blakely has copped a suspension, and Shane Kersten has been dropped.
For St Kilda it’s only one change – Jack Steele is in, with Blake Acres dropped to make way.
St Kilda haven’t beaten Fremantle in Perth since 2011, however, they’ve only played them there once in that time.
With Fyfe and Sandilands back Fremantle could really make a game of this, and for them to be out to $2.15 at home is good value.
